Antonia tells Lina that she is in love with a Family man named Paolo. Lina looks at her daughter, and she remembers the day that she was born. Lina realizes that Antonia is all grown up and is afraid to tell her that she has fallen in love because Lina has not mothered her for ten years. Lina asks Antonia to tell her about him, and she says to herself, "Let me be your mama again" (129).
