What is the theme in The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan?

Gender roles is another theme in the book. Men and women have very specific roles in the book. In Emond's Field, the women cook, clean, and tend to the home while the men have occupations and sit on the Village Council. The Women's Circle has as much power as the Village Council in matters that concern women or the roles of women.
