The Ear, the Eye and the Arm

The children’s father regrets that he kept them from growing up. How does over-protection keep young people from reaching maturity? Do you think it’s better to be over-protected or under-protected from the world beyond home and school? Give examples.

Over-protection often keeps young people from learning responsibility.... making their own mistakes.

In my opinion, it is better to be over-protected, as there are so many different things that young people are exposed to today... things that they are not prepared or ready for in their young lives; things that they do not need to be exposed to. This is, of course, my opinion, looking back at the lives of my children, and predominantly at the life of my young grandson... I prefer the thought of over-protection to under protection. What do you think?
