Who is Philosophers from The Doors of Perception, and Heaven and Hell and what is their importance?

Huxley mentions a number of philosophers, though none of them plays a significant role on her/her own in the work. The use of their ideas, however, helps Huxley to explain his ideas and make points about mescalin use.
