Why does the narrator sense that Gramma does not want them living with her?

The narrator feels that Gramma does not the family living with her because of a couple reasons: first, she says the guest bedroom is already taken, but there is no one else in the house but a dog; second, when Gramma’s friends are over, she wants the family out of sight.
