When Langdon sees the crime scene in person, a Caravaggio painting is still lying on the floor. The curator is lying on his back, naked with arms and legs outstretched. He has drawn a five pointed star on his abdomen using his own blood that had spilled from the gunshot wound. There is also a message on the floor that reads "13-3-2-21-1-1-8-5 O, Draconian Devil! Oh, lame saint!" Langdon seems surprised that nothing seems disturbed.
