There are several events from Silas' past that have shaped his current situation. Silas remembers leaving home at the age of seven, after his drunken father killed his mother, because she had borne him an albino son. Silas had, in turn, stabbed his father to death with a knife. In his late teens, he was trying to steal food from a cargo ship, killed a crew member in the process, and was also caught by the police. Silas was then imprisoned for twelve years and ridiculed for being an albino. Any or all of which could have caused his current violent nature.
