In a significant way, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is about rage and stresses that slowly build until they blossom into inappropriate human behavior. It could be argued that when Christopher resorts to screaming, moaning, thrashing and hitting when he encounters crowds, bad news, unfulfilled expectations and physical contact with strangers, he is not expressing rage but, because of his emotional disassociation, is simply practicing survival techniques.
