Who is John Proctor?

John Proctor was a Salem farmer. He was married to Elizabeth Proctor; they had to sons. Proctor's wife in unjustly accused of witchcraft by his former lover (Abigail), and Proctor takes it upon himself to expose the girls as frauds and save the lives of those awaiting execution.
