Where does Billy search for Boyd and what does he learn about his brother?

Billy rides to the Munoz house where he had stayed with Boyd and the girl, but there is no one there. Billy goes next to the town where the girl had been from, but no one there claims to know where she has gone. Billy finds a man dead in a house and remains for the funeral. Then a girl begins talking to Billy and tells him that she is aware of his identity and knows Billy's brother. She said that his brother is buried at San Buenaventura. Billy soon rides out, heading in that direction.
