Another theme is world government. The concept of a world government has been promoted as a means to permanent world peace and prosperity. The author argued that just the opposite happened. Wars continued to be fought, and more of them at a greater frequency. Poverty remained a problem in both undeveloped and developed nations. Also, the world governing organization, the United Nations, handed out money to dictatorships that enabled the regimes to continue repressing their people.
