In O'Conner's "Good Country People" how are the characters' named? Is there any symbolism in them?

Mrs. Hopewell and Mrs. Freeman each have symbolism in their names. Both names are symbolic; Mrs. Hopewell 'hopes' so much that she's stuck in a world of cliches. Mrs. Freeman sees things as they truly are. She is 'free' from the conventions that fog everyone else's perceptions and beliefs.
