Why does Midnight suddenly appear at the Santiaga home in Chapter 4?

In Chapter 4, Midnight suddenly appears at the Santiaga home to pick up Winter and her sisters. Her mother has been shot in face while out in Brooklyn with Santiaga before going car shopping for a new Mercedes. Midnight has been instructed to pick up the girls and bring Winter the hospital, but she is not able to see her mother then.
