What happens when Winter tries to rent an apartment in Chapter 8?

In Chapter 8, Winter tries to rent an apartment with the cash she has left after Midnight tells her he is leaving town. Winter finds an ad for a nice brownstone in Harlem and tells the landlady a story about being a student. However, she has to fill out an application and leave a hefty deposit. Winter decides to keep the cash and move in with her aunt in Brooklyn.
