What does Winter discover at the Marriott after she runs away from Sister Souljahs? How does she cope with this setback?

Upon arriving at the Marriott, Winter discovers that Lauren has switched purses on her, and her money and diamond jewelry are gone. Winter is at first stunned at being broke and alone and heads for the hotel bar. There is no one she can call for help, so a theft plan has to be devised. The victim is an older woman who is drinking alone at the bar. Winter surprises the women in the hotel parking lot and walks with her to her car. Winter then hits her over the head with a sock full of rocks and steals $200, a credit card, Gucci shoes, and diamond rings.
