What is the setting of The Children of Men by P. D. James?

The novel is set in the year 2021 in England. It begins in Oxford, which is where Theo lives because he is a lecturer at Oxford University. When he was married with a daughter he lived in Lathbury Road, which he was not happy about. It was too far out and the house was too large and too expensive.
