As if he is insignificant. They are not really interested in him once they start talking to him. They talk about a movie actor and other gossip of the day. Even when he dances with one of the girls (the blonde) he kisses her on top of her 'dopey' head and she doesn't like it. Later he remarks that they are all kind of stupid .
