A man who considers himself an expert on wines takes insult from something a 'friend' says during a meeting during the week. During carnival the main charcter invites the man down to his personal wine cellar to see a rare cask of wine (Amontillado). Once he has the man in his cellar, he walls him up alive down there and leaves him to die.
