Symbol of gun

The gun is a symbol of inconsistency. Chris wonders from the beginning why Jack would have killed himself with the small gun that it appears he used when Jack had so many guns from which to use. It is this inconsistency that leads Chris to determine Jack was murdered by Andrew. Andrew used the small gun because he could slip it into his pocket and sneak it off the dig site.
