Significance of Elizabeth Best

Elizabeth Best is a former member of M16. She is kidnapped and ordered to kill Viktor Illyich, a man who turns out to be one of her friends. Elizabeth pretends to kill Viktor, giving herself time to figure out the identity of the man who wanted Viktor dead. Elizabeth faked Viktor’s death because the man told her that if she did not kill Viktor, he would kill Joyce, her best friend.
