Describe the experience Pollan had when the police almost found his large marijuana plants in his backyard?

Pollan had ordered some cords of wood from an individual who turned out to be a police officer. He tried to guide the officer away from the plants and was successful. During this time, he also cut down his plants out of paranoia.
