How is Max greeted by the Hubermann family when he arrives on their doorstep?

The Hubermanns are extremely nervous to have Max in their house, but they greet him warmly. Rosa makes Max a bowl of pea soup and he eats so much that he becomes ill. He falls asleep on Liesel's bed and sleeps there for three days straight.
