Who is Sol Spiegelman from The Blind Watchmaker?

Sol Spiegelman was a scientist who experimented with RNA molecules during the 1960s. He and the group of American scientists performing the experimentation were sucessful in replicating E. Coli bacteria without the use of DNA molecules.
