The Black Cauldron

At the end of the novel, Doli arrives, becomes invisible, and frees her friends. Ellidyr, in an attempt to make up for his bad behavior, throws himself into the cauldron, thus, destroying it. Gwydion then arrives with King Smoit's men, defeats Morgant, and saves the realm. When all is said and done, Taran comes to see that friendship and peace are valuable commodities..... and he happily heads for home.
