What happens regarding the wood Kuriatin is supposed to be delivering to repair the machine room floor at Reid Press?

Kuriatin is supposedly delivering wood to fix the Reid Press machine room floor. He has not done anything thus far. One evening Kuriatin meets Frank at the steam room in the Armenian baths. Kuriatin is very apologetic in failing to keep his promise. The wood arrives following the payment of a variety of small bribes.
