Count Olaf remains calm. He tells the children that despite the fact that he is a terrible man that he has been able to find a way to get the children's money. He goes on to say that he has not read near the books that the children have but the books haven't helped them to get ahead of the Count. He forces Klaus to give over the book before he sends them to doing chores.
