What does Mr. Poe tell the children when they say that Count Olaf is a terrible guardian and explain Count Olaf's behavior in Chapter 5?

Mr. Poe tells the children that Count Olaf is acting guardian and there is nothing that can be done about it. He tells the children that just because Count Olaf is different than their parent's were doesn't mean he is a bad man. They try to show Mr. Poe Klaus' face where he has been struck but Mr. Poe seems oblivious to their concerns and ushers them out of his office.
