How does Klaus' all night reading in Chapter 8 compare to how he used to stay up all night reading when his parents were alive?

Klaus is reading all night in order to save his sister in Chapter 8. When Klaus' parents were alive Klaus would stay up all night and read for fun. When his father would find him Klaus would still be holding his book and a flashlight. Klaus isn't enjoying his book very much but is determined not to put it down.
