Klaus quickly realizes that the play must have been created just for the function of stealing the Baudelaire fortune. The play is boring and has no real point. The audience is also loosing interest but none of them seem to be aware that anything unsavory is going on. They also don't seem to notice the fact that Count Olaf is walking around with a walkie talkie the whole time.
