Fee represents her culture’s bigotry toward gay individuals. Unlike Naj, Fee is very conservative about her sexuality. She does not like to parade it in front of other people and fights to keep it a secret. It is later revealed that she does this in order to keep her family from finding out because she knows they will disown her. This forces Fee to marry a man she likely does not love instead of spending her life with Naj. In the end, Fee is forced to give up her preferences to make her family happy and accept this new marriage she was forced into.
