What happens to Tom’s pinch bug in Tom Sawyer chapter 5

In chapter 5 of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," Tom's pinch-bug escapes from his grasp and lands in the church aisle. A stray poodle finds the beetle, and after being pinched, the dog begins running yelping through the church, causing a commotion. The beetle latches onto the poodle's behind, and the dog is eventually thrown out the window by its owner. Tom, though mildly annoyed at losing his pinch-bug, is ultimately pleased by the disruption to the Sunday church service.
