Theme for chapter 15

I think belonging, sense of place and consequences for actions are themes in chapter 15. Tom's escape back to town to view the mourning is just the validation Tom needs that they are indeed missed and people are sorry for the way they have treated the boys. It will probably be only a short-lived victory because there will surely be punishment ahead as the adults realize that they had been duped.
