Who is John Openshaw in the story, The Five Orange Pips, from the collection, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes?

John Openshaw is the nephew of Elias Openshaw, who returned from Florida after the Civil War to the English countryside. His uncle incurs the wrath of the KKK which kills his uncle, his father, and eventually him.
