What kind of teacher is Socrates in The Clouds?

Socrates is not a very good teacher. He speaks in long-winded and indirect ways. Socrates attempts to present his students with a series of questions that lead to a personal and principled answer. Often he is very convoluted and never arrives at anything of substance.
