Diakaiopolis assembles a very elaborate outfit in preparation for his defense. He calls on Euripides, the famous tragic playwright, to borrow various costume pieces. These include: wrappings, a walking cane, a wicker basket burnt by a lamp, a chipped cup, a little cooking pot, and cast-off lettuce.
