Parker Anderson is a failed hustler. He sleeps in his car and freshens up at gas stations. Anderson quicklt rises in the union ranks to become vice president, and later serves as Henry Chinaski's union representative. Henry protests the injustice of removing half of the drinking fountains, and notes that after paying dues for twelve years, he wants an explanation. Anderson then learns that it is a legal liability issue. Henry believes the story is worth $312. He has seen worse articles printed in Playboy.
