Who is the antagonist in Tex?

Although, some might consider Mason the novel's antagonist (he does sell Tex's horse), the conflict between the two boys is nothing compared to the conflict with Tex himself. Thus, in my opinion, Tex is both the protagonist and antagonist in the novel.
