Who is Beilke from Tevye the Dairyman and the Railroad Stories and what is their importance?

Beilke is Tevye and Golde's youngest daughter. She cares for her father after her mother's death. Beilke accepts the proposal of a man named Podhotzur, who is chosen for her by the matchmaker, but she has difficulty adjusting to his lies and pretenses. Over the course of the story, Podhotzur goes broke, and the couple flees to America where they both end up working in sweatshops.
