Why does Makutsi resent seeing chickens at her office?

Mma Makutsi is at the detective agency. She likes to leave the door open but chickens walk in. She has to chase them out, and she resents having to do so. She feels she should have had a job in a high-rise office building with air conditioning because of the grades she received in secretarial school.
