What happens with Erik at the first football game with Lake Windsor?

The ball is snapped and Erik rushes forward to kick but at the last second, Antoine picks up the ball and rushes for the extra points. Paul says that Erik doesn't realize that the ball has moved and kicks. When the ball isn't there, Erik loses his balance, flies into the air, and land on his back while the crowd laughs at Erik and cheers Antoine.
