What challenge does Bertram make to Helena in All's Well That Ends Well?

In All's Well That Ends Well, Bertram does not want to marry Helena. He leaves France, sending her a letter in which he writes that when she can get the ring off his finger, she can call him husband but that will never be. In addition, he writes, "Till I have no wife, I have nothing in France."
