The narrator remember that a lot of things had happened in London. She had finally given up her flat. She had watched a man concede victory to her mother. She wanted to go to a nineties-hi-hop night at the Jazz Cafe, but she did not have any friends that she could call to go with her. So she went alone and ended up sleeping with one of the doormen.
