In Intermission, Chapter 1, what did Aimee believe would make a real change in the world?

Aimee thought that governments were useless and could not be trusted. She also believed that charities had their own agendas, and that churches cared more for souls than bodies. So she believe that if there was to be a real change in the world, people like herself who had the financial means and global reach should do something good.
