What is significant about David's interest in fishing and filming Random Samples?

In both situations, David wants to "catch" something--either a fish or an image. He is interested in hunting, pursuing, and acquiring for his own satisfaction. This attitude is also apparent in his infidelity to Anna, and his attempted flirtation with the narrator.
