Describe the experience the narrator has with her mother.

The narrator believes she sees her mother's image feeding the blue jays outside the cabin. She senses, however, that her mother is not real, but a vision, and that she will vanish if the narrator approaches. As her mother vanishes, the narrator tries to discover which of the jays is now her mother.
