When she is alone with Mary for a few minutes, Sara learns the truth about the stolen watch. Apparently Mary's mother told her in confidence that she was at Mrs. Melby's house a few weeks ago when Aunt Willie came over to confront Joe herself. Joe then insisted he did not take the watch.
