Those of the Reggae subculture are attracted to music with a slow tempo and appreciate black history. Rastafarians are more interested in heavy music and teaching the message of poverty and a complete alienation from others. Rastafarians believe in promoting Africa as the "Promised Land" spoken of in the Bible.
