Who is Lily Devereaux from Straight Man and what is their importance?

Lily is Hank Devereaux's wife. She worries that her husband is unhappy and struggling with mid-life crisis. She encourages him to relax and does everything she can to make his life easier. Lily teaches at the local high school and due to a work engagement has to leave for the weekend. Being alone and dealing with the everyday catastrophes of life makes Hank a different person.
