What happens when Harry tells Susan to drink the escape potion in the lab?

Susan waits and nothing happens. She then bolts upstairs and fires Harry's gun at the demon. This doesn't do anything damaging to the demon but gives Harry a moment to escape with Susan. It isn't until a few minutes later that Harry realizes that Susan drank the love potion and not the escape potion.
