What does Marcone give as the reason that he isn't willing to help Harry in chapter seventeen?

Marcone explains that Harry has made a large mess in Marcone's club and Marcone can't afford to appear weak or like he has allowed Harry to do this. Marcone says that he is going to either let the killer get Harry or when Harry gets to the killer Marcone will say that he has sent Harry to do it. This way Marcone doesn't have to dirty his hands either way. Marcone then admits that he has no information to give Harry regardless because they can't get anything from those that work for the murderer.
